The wooded eastern slope of Prácheň has long been regarded as a haunt of spirits. The ghost of Půta Švihovský appeared here and, even after four centuries, treated anyone who failed to greet him respectfully with hostility. He is said to know of hidden treasures, but has never helped anyone reach them. Prácheň also has its White Lady, who wanders around the hill, near Svaté Pole and above the Otava. She was seen walking silently over the water or standing motionless in the meadows.
